Hersteller: Pixel MagickWordsnake??? has been described as ???a cross between Scrabble and Dominoes??? or just as ???brilliant???. Whilst these descriptions are good attempts at describing the game, Wordsnake??? has it´s own challenges and unique appeal.This challenging word game has you building words of between three to eight letters from the random selection on your tile rack. Points are awarded for correct words and deducted for incorrect words. Points for each letter is weighted according to it´s frequency in the English language, and longer words get additional points.You build words by playing from existing letters on the board, forming the snake-like structures that give the game its name.The aim is to reach a target score before the timer runs out, but that´s not all. Each level only ends when the timer runs out, so you must maintain your score until then.This is not always as easy as it sounds, as your Wordsnake??? sheds its skin! Old words fall away forcing you to enter new words to prevent the snake from dying, and you find you are left with an increasing number of ´difficult´ letters to dispose of.To help you there are special tiles to play onto which will increase or decrease the timer and give you extra lives.You also have other tools to help you, such as a shuffle option to randomly shuffle your tile rack and buttons to help you locate the extra life tile or the first letter which remains on the board throughout the game.As you work your way up the levels, the target increases, the timer gets faster and more walls appear on the board, restricting the playable area.Whilst the basic premise of the game is quite simple, mastering the game requires the development of several strategies based on the players own abilities and vocabulary, making the game challenging and fun for a wide age range.You may even find your vocabulary expanding as you desperately try to get rid of difficult letters only to find the nonsense you entered is actually a real word!Wordsnake??? is a game that lovers of word games keep coming back to and has given great pleasure to tens of thousands of players since it´s inception in 2005.This Android version is the BEST EVER with many improvements, including it´s own soundtrack which grows in intensity as the game´s tension increases and it´s largest ever dictionary with both UK and USA spelling. |
